AGAWAM, MA – Six Flags New England's annual Fright Fest is once again transforming the park into a realm of terror, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the intricate world of scare acting and haunted attractions. This year's event, running every weekend until November 9th, promises a unique blend of thrills and chills. Willow Farber, a dedicated scare member and lead for several of the park's haunted attractions, including Camp Killamore and Terror Tales in the Wicked Woods, shared insights into her role. "I started at Six Flags New England when I was 18 as a scare actor in the Midnight Mansion," Farber explained, detailing her progression to overseeing two of the park's most terrifying trails. She emphasized the unique opportunity Fright Fest provides: "It's such a unique opportunity to be able to scare people, and they love you for it." The video also highlighted the meticulous preparation involved in bringing these characters to life. Greg Seymour, an Entertainment Supervisor, demonstrated the detailed makeup application process. "We're going to give Willow a base coat of white water-based paint using our airbrush," Seymour stated, describing the initial steps for creating a Victorian ghost look. He further elaborated on the diversity of characters, noting, "We have so many different types of monsters here, from ghosts to zombies to just sometimes normal human beings with like cuts and scratches. So there's always a huge variety of faces." Seymour described the backstage atmosphere as a "buzz," with everyone excited and full of ideas, ready to scare guests. The video showcased the Midnight Mansion, a Victorian-style haunted maze, inviting guests to step into its deadly halls and rooms, where they might encounter a variety of friendly, or not-so-friendly, faces. The park employs anywhere from 60 to over 100 scare actors each night, all contributing to the immersive and terrifying experience.
