Brooklyn Firefighters Quickly Contain Basement Blaze

Firefighters responded to a blaze in the basement of a Kensington, Brooklyn building early Saturday morning, May 24, 2025. The fire, reported shortly before 4:00 am on Church Avenue, sent plumes of smoke into the air. "We received a call about the incident a little before four in the morning," stated a firefighter at the scene. Sixty firefighters and medical personnel rushed to the location. Images show flames coming from what appears to be a restaurant. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. The quick response and efficient work of the FDNY prevented further damage and ensured the safety of residents and businesses in the area.
