‘We were in Florida’: Knoxville woman hires college-aged dog sitter from Rover.…
A Knoxville woman says her Rover sitter brought strangers into her home while she was away. Cameras caught the evidence.
A homeowner has shared a surprising account of events that unfolded while her dog was under the care of a professional sitter. The individual, identified as Megan, recounted on a social media platform how she and her fiancé, along with their baby, traveled to Florida, leaving their dog, Pumpkin, at home with a sitter booked through the Rover service. Megan had specifically requested the sitter spend ample time at the house due to Pumpkin's anxiety when left alone.Monitoring their home via an outdoor security camera, Megan observed the sitter bringing five men and one girl to the residence on Saturday night. The group reportedly entered and exited the house by backing a car up to the garage and using the trunk to avoid direct camera view. They remained at the property for approximately 45 minutes before leaving and returning at 3:00 AM, utilizing the same clandestine entry and exit method.During the second departure, one of the guests was seen carrying four duffel bags. Megan initially feared a robbery but later concluded the bags likely contained dirty laundry, suggesting the guests were using her washing facilities. Despite receiving text messages and photos from the sitter assuring her that 'everything is going great with Pumpkin,' Megan was simultaneously witnessing the unauthorized gathering through her security feed.Upon her return, Megan found her house 'clean, clean, spic and span,' a state she likened to a teenager meticulously cleaning after a party. While nothing was reported stolen, Megan expressed a feeling of violation regarding the sitter's actions. The incident raises questions about trust and privacy when hiring home service providers.
