Fiza Frizzy Loses RM25,000 in Travel Scam, Issues Urgent Warning to Public Against Fraudulent Influencers
KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian celebrity Fiza Frizzy has come forward to share her ordeal of losing RM25,000 in a travel scam, filing a police report to warn the public against fraudulent schemes, particularly those promoted by social media influencers. Frizzy, known for her acting and hosting roles, revealed that she paid a substantial amount for a family trip to Japan, including tickets for her children and parents, through an individual she trusted who was associated with an influencer. However, as the travel date approached, the promised tickets failed to materialize, and communication with the alleged travel agent ceased. Speaking outside the police station, Frizzy expressed her deep disappointment and frustration. "I was supposed to go to Japan on May 29th, bringing my children and parents. We had everything paid for – accommodation, transportation, everything. But the tickets never came," she stated. She recounted repeated attempts to contact the individual, who continuously made excuses and eventually became unreachable. While acknowledging the slim chances of recovering her lost funds, Frizzy stressed that her primary motivation for coming forward was to prevent others from falling victim to similar scams. "I want to tell everyone watching, do not trust these beautiful promises from influencers. Some influencers, even those with half a million or a million followers, can be victims themselves, or worse, complicit," she cautioned. Frizzy urged the public to exercise extreme caution, especially when dealing with travel packages, Umrah, or Hajj trips offered at suspiciously low prices. "If you see cheap flight tickets, buy them directly from the airline's website. Do not go through travel agents unless they are reputable and verified," she advised. She concluded with a stern warning to the perpetrators: "I will not forgive you, not even a single cent of my hard-earned money. You have no right to my money, and you have no right to deceive me."
