Are You Washing Your Bath Towels Often Enough? Probably Not
How often should you wash your bath towel? You're only using the towel to dry off after you've just gotten clean, so how often should it be washed?
A recent online video by content creator 'Mister Gizmo' has garnered significant attention for its simple yet effective method to deep clean smelly towels. The creator, known for his practical tips, demonstrated a two-step process aimed at eliminating persistent musty odors and restoring freshness to used towels. According to Mister Gizmo, the first step involves washing towels in hot water with one cup of distilled white vinegar. He emphasizes that after this wash, the towels should not be dried. Instead, they should immediately undergo a second hot wash, this time with one cup of baking soda. Mister Gizmo explained, "That's gonna break down that buildup of detergent that's in them, the buildup of fabric softener in them, and it's gonna make your towel smell fresh and clean again." He further advised against using fabric softener or detergent during these deep cleaning washes. Following the second wash, towels can be dried as normal. The video concludes with Mister Gizmo demonstrating the success of the method, showcasing a freshly cleaned, soft, and great-smelling towel.
