MELAKA – A family in Melaka is enduring an unimaginable double tragedy following the sudden passing of their infant, who was born after a 15-year wait, and the subsequent death of the baby's father. The heartbreaking incident has prompted an outpouring of community support, with local representatives stepping in to assist the grieving family. The baby's mother, Azura, recounted the devastating events. She described how her husband had complained of chest pain the night before but refused to go to the clinic. The following morning, she found her baby unresponsive and her husband without a pulse. "I thought he just fainted," she said, explaining her immediate decision to rush her baby to the hospital. Upon learning of the tragedy, YB Mat Duyong, a local public figure, and his team promptly arrived to offer their condolences and practical assistance. "Don't worry, Madam. The funeral vehicle and all arrangements, including bathing, have been handled by the Datuk Bandar," YB Mat Duyong assured the distraught mother. His team confirmed that the deceased father was a staff member of MBMD, and arrangements for the burial were expected to commence after the Asar prayer.
