Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) has addressed online concerns regarding a video showing two aircraft in close proximity to Paya Lebar Air Base. The video, originally posted on Xiaohongshu, suggested a potential route conflict during flight training. However, a MINDEF spokesperson clarified that a civilian-registered Gulfstream 550 and an RSAF Multi-Role Tanker Transport were conducting routine flight operations on May 13 at approximately 8pm. "Both aircraft were in constant contact and coordination with air traffic controllers and had maintained a safe distance from each other," the spokesperson stated. This statement effectively debunks the initial concerns raised by the online video. The incident highlights the importance of clear communication and official responses to address public concerns regarding aviation safety.
