Mahileŭ River Cleanup: City's Beautification Project Underway
Mahileŭ River Cleanup Proceeds as Scheduled Mahileŭ, Belarus – A large-scale cleanup of the Dubrovënka River in Mahileŭ is underway. The project, part of the city's beautification plan, aims to remove significant amounts of silt, organic matter, and debris that have accumulated in the riverbed. To facilitate the cleanup, the water level has been temporarily lowered by opening the river's sluice gates. Heavy machinery is being used to remove the accumulated material. "The work is proceeding according to schedule and in compliance with environmental regulations," said Denis Koĭda, deputy general director for beautification at the Mahileŭ City Communal Services (MGCU). "We ask for the public's understanding during this process. Once the work is complete, the water level will be restored, and we will all be able to enjoy the revitalized green space." The cleanup is expected to significantly improve the appearance of the river and restore normal water circulation. The project demonstrates the city's commitment to environmental protection and urban improvement.
