Petropavlovsk's Young Footballers Bring Home the Derby Cup Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan – In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Petropavlovsk-based youth football team, "Zhenis," has returned home victorious from the international "Derby Cup" football festival held in Omsk, Russia. Comprising players born in 2016, the team achieved an undefeated streak, winning all six matches they played. The team's coach, Kanat Mukhamedzhanov, spoke about the challenges: "The second day was the toughest. We faced strong opponents. We beat Bars from Ust-Kamenogorsk 3-2, and then, just an hour later, played against Lokomotiv from Omsk." The opponents, having observed Zhenis' earlier games, adjusted their strategy, but the young players persevered due to their strong character and adherence to the game plan. Aidos Amangeldy, a key player for Zhenis, scored 10 goals during the tournament and was awarded the title of "Best Player." He expressed his joy, stating, "I'm very happy. We took first place, and all the opponents were strong." The team also received awards for Best Goalkeeper and Best Coach. The Zhenis team's success is a testament to their dedication and talent. They are now preparing for the upcoming Junior Cup tournament in June.
