Family Fun and Competition: A Biathlon Relay Race in Borky, Kazakhstan A family biathlon relay race was held in the village of Borky, Kazakhstan, on May 23, 2025, as part of the International Biathlon Day celebrations. The event saw 25 families compete in a sprint race followed by target shooting. Ulyana Kovanova, a young biathlete with years of experience in prestigious tournaments, participated with her father, mother, and younger sister. "Today, my whole family participated – my dad, mom, and younger sister. My grandparents came to support us," Ulyana shared. Her father, Sergey Kovanov, added, "The race was fun and challenging. I had one miss, so I had to make up for it with my legs!" The event was deemed a success, promoting family bonding and showcasing the growing popularity of biathlon in the region.
