
Kazakh Language Celebrated at Petropavlovsk Media Contest
Petropavlovsk Hosts Award Ceremony for "State Language and Mass Media" Contest Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan – The regional stage of the "State Language and Mass Media" contest concluded in Petropavlovsk on June 4, 2025. The event, organized to promote the Kazakh language, saw participation from various individuals and organizations. Winners were awarded for their outstanding contributions to the state language. Erkesh Erdenova, head of the SKO Culture, Language Development, and Archives Department, stated, "The contest had two categories: 'Best Article' and 'Best Television and Radio Program.' This year, we received 10 applications and 20 submissions." This highlights the growing interest in promoting the Kazakh language. Samrat Kuskenov, a journalist from the "Ozylyar nury" city newspaper, won the 'Best Article' category. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in language preservation. "Such contests are essential not just for journalists but also for community activists and residents," he said. The contest's winners will advance to the republican stage in July. This event underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kazakh language's presence in media and society.
