
Local Journalists Win State Language Contest in North Kazakhstan
Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan – Journalists and civil servants celebrated the winners of the regional stage of the "State Language and Media" contest. The event, held on June 4th, 2025, recognized outstanding contributions to promoting the Kazakh language in media. Samrat Kuskenov, a correspondent for the "Qyzyljar nury" newspaper, won first prize in the "Best Article" category for his article exposing errors in street signs and advertising banners. "In such contests, everyone who wants to participate should be able to," Kuskenov stated, emphasizing the importance of language accessibility. Erkesh Erdenova, a main specialist in the Department of Culture, Language Development, and Archival Affairs of North Kazakhstan, highlighted the contest's third year and the participation of ten individuals who submitted twenty articles and reports. The winners will represent the region at the national level of the competition.
