Local Students Lead Massive Forest Cleanup on World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, June 5th, 2025, the Meshchan forest in Northern Kazakhstan saw a significant cleanup effort organized by the North Kazakhstan Medical College. Approximately 80 students and volunteers participated, dividing into teams to compete in collecting the most waste. One student, Diana Bogomolova, stated, "We participated last year and won first place, collecting 178 kg of trash." Another participant, Aida Akkeeva, added, "Today, we're working with colleagues, aiming for first place again. These cleanup events are vital for public spaces." The combined effort resulted in the collection of around 600 kg of waste, demonstrating the positive impact of community engagement in environmental conservation.
