Petropavlovsk Hosts Record-Breaking Asyk Atu Championship Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan – The 2025 Kazakhstan Asyk Atu Championship concluded recently, marking a significant milestone for the traditional Kazakh sport. A record-breaking 19 teams from across the country competed in the tournament, demonstrating the growing popularity of Asyk Atu. Adilzhan Zhumagulov, a five-time Kazakhstan champion and the first Asian champion in Asyk Atu, shared his experience: "10 years ago, I accidentally participated in a Nauryz holiday tournament and won two phones and a tablet. That's when I got noticed by coaches and started my journey." His words highlight the accessibility and potential rewards of the sport. Aghjan Suraganov, President of the SKO Asyk Atu Federation, emphasized the importance of the championship: "In the first round, our athletes from the SKO region performed well, winning against Mangistau.
