
Kazakh Officials Face Disciplinary Action After Public Intoxication and Unauthorized Sales
Petropavl, Kazakhstan – June 10, 2025 – A recent regional assembly meeting addressed two separate disciplinary cases involving local officials. Viacheslav Barsukov, head of the Lomonosov rural district, was found to have violated disciplinary rules by being intoxicated in public. According to Darhan Ermekov, a representative from the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, "Barsukov was found intoxicated around midnight on May 31st near the Kazakhstan Constitution House." This led to a fine and a formal reprimand. Separately, Botagoz Sabirova, head of the Kishkaray rural district, was cited for conducting unauthorized sales within her office. The meeting concluded with warnings issued to both officials. The cases highlight the importance of maintaining ethical standards within public service.
