Authorities are creating a vast network of firebreaks, totaling 3618 kilometers, across the region's extensive forestlands. Rustem Zhanakhmetov, an engineer with the Kyzylzhar Forestry Enterprise, stated, "This year, we're clearing an area of over 3 kilometers and 600 meters." The work involves creating 4-meter wide firebreaks, which act as barriers to prevent the spread of wildfires. These firebreaks are being implemented across the region's forests, significantly reducing the risk of widespread damage. Elsher Zhakysh, a student at the M. Kozibayev North Kazakhstan University, emphasized the importance of public awareness, stating, "It's crucial that people understand the need to prevent fires and avoid actions that could spark them." The firebreaks, along with public awareness campaigns, are key to protecting the region's valuable forests.
