Asphalt Quality Under Scrutiny: North Kazakhstan's Road Inspection
North Kazakhstan Invests in Road Infrastructure: Quality Control Ensures Safe and Efficient Travel The recent paving of a key highway in North Kazakhstan is undergoing rigorous quality checks. Experts from the National Center for Road Asset Quality are meticulously examining the new asphalt, ensuring it meets stringent standards. The process involves taking core samples, which are then analyzed in a laboratory to determine the asphalt's strength, thickness, and composition. This ensures the long-term durability of the road and protects public funds. "We notify the contractor a day in advance of our planned visits," explains Alexander Kerchis, an engineer involved in the project. "This allows for thorough inspections of the road's surface, subgrade, and shoulders, ensuring the highest quality of workmanship." The inspections have already revealed over 120 defects and violations, highlighting the critical need for such quality control measures. However, 18 of these issues have already been resolved, demonstrating a commitment to rectifying problems promptly. The video visually illustrates the sampling process and the importance of maintaining high standards in road construction. The project's success will ensure safer and more comfortable travel for the region's residents.
