Belarus Launches Road Safety Campaign Amidst Rise in Child Accidents MINSK, BELARUS – The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) launched a nationwide road safety initiative, "No Holidays on the Road," focusing on preventing child injuries and fatalities during the summer months. The campaign, which coincides with the start of summer vacation, underscores the alarming increase in child road accidents. According to the MVD, ten children have died in road accidents in Belarus since the beginning of the year, and 142 more have suffered injuries. "Our officers are concentrating on preventative work with children and adults," said a spokesperson for the State Auto Inspection. "We are reminding everyone about the importance of seatbelts and child safety seats." The campaign includes increased police presence and educational outreach to families.
