Kenyan Senate Explains Arrest of Deceased Albert Ojwang
Kenyan Senate sheds light on the arrest of the late Albert Ojwang. Nairobi, Kenya – The Kenyan Senate recently addressed the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the late Albert Ojwang. Inspector General Douglas Kanja revealed that a formal complaint triggered the arrest. The complaint alleged that false and malicious information about Ojwang's involvement in corruption had been circulated on social media. "The published information alleged that Mr. Eliud Langat had strategically placed his most trusted officers to control revenue streams and intelligence flow," stated Kanja. These claims, according to Kanja, were deemed defamatory and unsubstantiated, leading to an immediate investigation under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act No. 5 of 2018. The incident highlights the impact of misinformation and the importance of thorough investigations.
