The incident, which occurred at 3:30 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, was captured on surveillance video. The footage shows an SUV reversing into the front of Fast and Easy Liquor, located on Treat Boulevard, shattering the glass doors. Several individuals then rushed inside, grabbing liquor, cigarettes, laptops, and cash from a safe. "Every single penny that we save from selling stuff, they take it all," said Sunny Zahid, the store owner, in an interview with NBC Bay Area. "In just one time." Zahid, who has owned the store for 12 years, expressed his frustration and fear, stating that the repeated break-ins are taking a significant emotional and financial toll. He is now facing repair costs estimated at over $20,000. The Concord Police Department is investigating the incident. Zahid has started a fundraiser to help cover the costs of repairs and lost merchandise. Local residents expressed their support, wishing Zahid to continue his business despite the setbacks.
