Swimmer Dies in Lake Michigan Near Chicago Beach

A man died after being pulled from Lake Michigan near Chicago's 31st Street Beach on Monday afternoon. Firefighters responded to reports of a drowning. Divers recovered the man from the water, but he could not be revived. Dave Benjamin of the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project explained that cold water shock can quickly incapacitate swimmers.
