Federal Raid in Oceanside: Teens Handcuffed as Parents Detained in Immigration Operation
Oceanside, CA – Federal agents conducted an early morning raid on a residence in Oceanside, California, on June 18, leading to the detention of a couple and the temporary handcuffing of their two teenage children. The incident, captured on video, shows heavily armed agents breaking windows and deploying flashbangs before entering the home. Kevin Robles, 17, and his 14-year-old sister, Raquel, both U.S. citizens, described the terrifying experience of being handcuffed and watching their parents taken away. Kevin stated, "Both of my parents had been taken and then that's when I broke down in tears." He also recounted agents using foul language when he asked for his handcuffs to be loosened. Federal agents were reportedly executing a sealed warrant for the arrest of the father, Arnulfo Robles, on a charge of being a deported alien in the U.S. Court records indicate Robles was convicted of a DUI in 2023 and was on probation. His wife, Angelica Ortega, is now facing deportation proceedings, while Kevin and Raquel were eventually released. A neighbor, Ada Rocha, who witnessed the operation, questioned the level of force used. "I know you guys are doing your job," Rocha said, "but there's ways of doing it. Why is it necessary to break windows? Or bringing 30 plus armed people?" The incident has raised concerns among residents regarding the tactics employed during such operations.
