OREM, UT – A shooting incident at Utah Valley University on September 10 left conservative activist Charlie Kirk injured, according to a witness who spoke to NBC News. Justin Hickens, who was approximately 20 yards from Kirk, described the moment the activist was shot. “I saw a bunch of blood come out of Charlie, I saw his body kind of kick back and go limp,” Hickens stated, recounting the immediate aftermath of a loud shot. The event, an outdoor gathering attended by thousands, reportedly lacked metal detectors, raising concerns about security. Hickens detailed a “religious-related exchange” that occurred roughly 60 to 90 seconds before the shooting. Following the shot, attendees dropped to the ground, and fortunately, no further bullets were fired into the crowd. Initial reports from the university indicated a suspect was in custody, but a later update from a Utah Valley University spokesperson clarified that authorities did not have a suspect detained.
