Chemical Engineer Clarifies Role in Tempe Crash Investigation
The recent tragic train crash in Tempe, Greece, has prompted a series of investigations into the circumstances surrounding the disaster. One area of focus is the role of the General Chemical State Laboratory (GCHSL) and the testing of materials related to the rail infrastructure. A chemical engineer, Achileas Mitsopoulos, recently gave an interview clarifying his involvement (or lack thereof) in a specific experiment conducted at the GCHSL. In the interview, Mitsopoulos stated, "In no experiment at the GCHSL was Mr. Karonis present." He further explained that the experiment in question took place at the GCHSL facilities and involved three chemical engineers who jointly verified the methodology. The absence of Mr. Karonis, another key expert, is currently under investigation. Mitsopoulos' testimony provides valuable insight into the ongoing investigation and highlights the importance of meticulous record-keeping and transparency in such critical infrastructure projects. The ongoing investigation hopes to provide answers and prevent future tragedies.
