₱20/Kilo Rice Now Available in Metro Manila: Relief for Vulnerable Sectors
Metro Manila residents can now purchase government-subsidized rice for ₱20 per kilo. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on vulnerable sectors, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and 4Ps beneficiaries. News5's Frontline Express team visited a distribution site in Quezon City, where they interviewed Kari Cator, a reporter who witnessed the distribution. "The rice is being sold for ₱20 per kilo at the Bureau of Animal Industry," reported Cator. "Many people are lining up to take advantage of this affordable option." The program plans to expand to 55 sites in June, ensuring wider access to affordable rice across Metro Manila and other parts of the country. This initiative provides much-needed relief to those struggling with rising food prices.
