Minsk Unveils First Belarusian-Assembled Electric Car: Geely EX5 Makes Debut Minsk, Belarus – In a significant step for the Belarusian automotive industry, the first domestically assembled electric vehicle, the Geely EX5, was unveiled in Minsk on May 24th, 2025. The event marked a milestone in Belarus's efforts to develop its electric vehicle sector and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The Geely EX5 boasts impressive specifications. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds, powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery. This battery has undergone rigorous testing, successfully withstanding extreme temperatures, moisture, and various forms of damage, according to the presentation. Its range is a noteworthy 430 kilometers on a single charge (WLTP cycle). "This is a proud moment for Belarus," stated an unnamed representative from the assembly plant during the presentation. "We've invested heavily in research and development to bring this electric vehicle to market, and we're confident it will be a success." The Geely EX5 is available in two trims, PRO and MAX, with prices starting at 73,900 rubles. The launch represents a positive step towards a greener future for Belarus's transportation sector.
