According to police sources, "The ring, headed by two pharmacists, had been operating for several years, systematically defrauding the healthcare system." The investigation revealed that the criminal network had been active since at least July 2017, engaging in the production and distribution of counterfeit prescriptions. The seized evidence includes a substantial quantity of medication and documentation outlining the fraudulent activities. The arrests mark a significant victory in the fight against healthcare fraud in Greece, sending a strong message that such criminal activities will not be tolerated. The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and healthcare organizations in combating organized crime. The ongoing investigation aims to identify and prosecute all those involved, ensuring accountability and recovering any additional losses incurred.
