Athens Sanitation Worker Brutally Assaulted in Agios Nikolaos ATHENS, GREECE – A shocking video has emerged showing the violent assault of a sanitation worker in the Agios Nikolaos area of Acharnes, Athens, on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. The incident occurred late at night near a street where the worker was collecting trash. The video shows a car, nearly hitting a garbage truck, stopping suddenly and three men getting out and attacking the worker. The attack was unprovoked and involved punches and kicks. The worker was left injured. "It was not one person who hit him; there were at least two others," said a witness who provided the video footage to Newsit.gr. "They dragged him to their car and continued to beat him." Athens Mayor Haris Doukas released a statement condemning the attack. "This violence has no place in our city," Doukas said.
