Belgrade Mother Details Postpartum Care Failures at Dragiša Mišović Hospital
A recent video shared online by a Serbian mother, Anđela, has brought attention to alleged shortcomings in postpartum care at Dragiša Mišović maternity hospital in Belgrade. Anđela describes a positive childbirth experience, but her post-partum care was lacking. "Three hours after giving birth," she recounts, "a nurse informed me my baby was in an incubator, but couldn't explain why until the next day." This lack of communication, she says, contributed to her developing mastitis. Her story highlights concerns about the hospital's communication and the overall support provided to new mothers. The hospital has not yet responded to the claims in the video. Anđela's experience underscores the need for improved communication and support systems in maternity hospitals to ensure the well-being of both mothers and newborns.
