At least nine people died in a tragic bus accident that occurred on the Cajamarca-Calarcá road in the department of Quindío, Colombia. The accident involved a bus carrying 21 students and two professors from the University of the Humboldt's Botanical Garden in Armenia. According to Carlos Eduardo Barragán from the newsroom of Noticias Caracol, the bus lost control near the Helicóidal bridge at kilometer 5, falling into a ravine. 'The students were ejected from the bus and fell into the void,' Barragán reported. Authorities confirmed nine fatalities and seven injuries. Emergency services, including police and emergency medical teams from Calarcá and Armenia, responded to the scene. The accident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety.
