According to findings from a UK-based think tank, 64% of individuals aged 18 to 20 identify as left-leaning, while only 20% align with right-wing ideologies. A separate report further indicates that 67% of young Britons aged 18 to 34 would prefer to live in a socialist economy. The data also reveals that 78% of young people blame capitalism for Britain's current housing crisis, and 72% support the nationalization of key industries such as energy, water, and railways. Experts suggest that this growing preference for socialism stems from the economic realities faced by younger generations. Over the past two decades, the likelihood of a young adult on an average income owning their own home has more than halved, making renting the prevalent norm. Furthermore, real wages have remained stagnant for approximately 15 years, and the average student graduates with around £50,000 in debt. Contrary to the traditional belief that individuals become more conservative with age, this trend appears to be reversing among Millennials, who are increasingly moving towards the left as they get older.
