Concerns Raised Over Pre-Election Activities in Serbian Towns
Pre-election irregularities in Zaječar and Kosjerić raise concerns about fairness. Two organizations, the Institute for European Freedoms and the Center for European Values, both recently established in Novi Sad, have been granted observer status for the upcoming local elections in Zaječar on June 8th. However, the video from TV NovaS reveals concerning pre-election activities. In Kosjerić, pensioners received packages of food, an action publicized by the "Ujedinjeni za Kosjerić" (United for Kosjerić) list. Additionally, a mobile pharmacy from Užice and Valjevo visited Ražana village. This raises questions about the potential misuse of public resources for political campaigning. The close proximity in time of the organizations' founding and the elections, and the apparent coordination of the events, are cause for concern. While the video does not provide direct quotes, the visual evidence is compelling. The actions raise serious questions about the integrity of the election process in the region. Further investigation is needed to determine the full extent of these activities and their impact on the election.
