
IPOA Reveals Officers Involved in Death of Albert Ojwang
IPOA Names Officers in Albert Ojwang's Death Kenya's Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has publicly identified the police officers involved in the arrest of Albert Ojwang, who later died in police custody. The incident occurred in Homa Bay County. The IPOA report details a sequence of events beginning on June 7th, 2025, at approximately 8:00 AM. A police team, including Sergeant Sigei, Sergeant Wesley Kipkorir Kirui, PC Dennis Kenyon, PC Milton Mwanza, and PC Boniface Rabudo, arrested Ojwang at around 2:30 PM. They transported him to Mawingo Police Station. Later, he was transferred to Central Police Station in Nairobi. Ojwang was found dead in custody on June 8th. The IPOA investigation is ongoing. "The authority learned of the death of Albert Ojwang in police custody on June 8th from media reports and police signals," stated the IPOA director.
