SEOUL – A recent live stream by a Korean YouTuber, known as 'tech.it', has put the durability of Samsung's latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, to an extreme test. The content creator embarked on a challenge to manually fold the device 200,000 times, providing a real-world assessment of its resilience outside of laboratory conditions. The rigorous experiment, which has been ongoing for several days, revealed notable points of wear. At approximately 6,000 folds, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 reportedly restarted unexpectedly. Further into the test, at the 46,000-fold mark, a distinct cracking sound was observed. By 75,000 folds, an unidentified liquid was seen seeping from the device, indicating significant internal stress. This ongoing test offers a stark comparison to Samsung's official claims, which state the Galaxy Z Fold 7's screen can withstand up to 500,000 folds under ideal laboratory conditions. The company has highlighted improvements in its latest foldable, including a 50% thicker ultra-thin glass designed to absorb shocks more effectively.
