Cupertino, CA – Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 17 Pro has reportedly been unveiled, showcasing a significant design overhaul and advanced camera features. Tech reviewer Numerama provided an initial hands-on look at the device, highlighting its new aluminum back and sides, a departure from previous designs, which is touted to offer improved heat dissipation. "It's a new design with aluminum on the back and sides, meaning it's manufactured from a single component, which will allow for better heat dissipation," stated the reviewer. Key camera enhancements include 4x and 8x optical zoom capabilities. The selfie camera has also been upgraded, now supporting horizontal capture due to a wider ultra-wide-angle lens. "We can now switch to horizontal if we want, because the camera is larger, it sees a bit more in ultra-wide angle," the reviewer noted. The device is also reportedly thicker, accommodating a larger battery, and features a new horizontal camera block designed for greater stability when placed on flat surfaces. Apple also claims an improved anti-reflective screen, a feature that will require further outdoor testing. Initial public reactions are mixed, with some users expressing excitement for the new features, while others, like one commenter, remarked, "For summary, they did nothing," or expressed disappointment with the design, stating, "Their design doesn't evolve / doesn't go in the right direction, I have the impression that they rely a lot on their image and their quasi-monopoly." The device's striking orange color also sparked discussion.
