
Bali Boat Capsizes: 89 Tourists Rescued After Wave Hits Vessel
On June 4th, 2025, a tourist boat named "The Tanis" capsized off the coast of Sanur, Bali, around 4:30 PM local time. A large wave unexpectedly hit the boat from behind, causing it to quickly list and overturn. The boat was carrying 89 people, including 77 foreign tourists and 12 Indonesian citizens. "It happened so fast," recounted one witness, "The wave was enormous, and the boat just flipped over." Panic ensued as passengers plunged into the water, but thankfully, nearby boats and people on the shore immediately began rescue operations.
