Larcomar Engineer Responds to Miraflores Municipality's Construction Allegations
Lima, Peru – An engineer involved in the structural project of Larcomar, Carlos Casabonne of GCAQ Ingenieros Civiles SAC, has publicly addressed recent allegations from the Municipality of Miraflores concerning alleged unlicensed constructions and structural damage at the popular commercial center. The municipality had raised concerns about structures located near the Parque Domo Solar, an area reportedly housing heavy machinery. During his statement, Casabonne asserted the stability of the slope and clarified that any observed issues were minor maintenance-related problems rather than significant structural failures. "The terrain is extremely competent," Casabonne stated, dismissing claims that the structures posed a risk. He further explained that certain equipment in the area is mobile and does not require building permits, refuting the municipality's accusations of irregular construction. Larcomar, through a separate communiqué, supported Casabonne's assertions, indicating that the equipment in question has been operating for over a decade and the concrete platform supporting it is part of the original installations. The commercial center emphasized that these elements do not compromise the safety of the facility.
