Devastating Russian Air Assault on Ukraine: Kyiv Hit Hardest
Russia launched its most devastating air attack on Ukraine since the start of the invasion on June 6th, 2025. Over 400 drones and 45 ballistic and cruise missiles targeted multiple regions, with Kyiv bearing the brunt of the assault. At least four people, including three rescuers, died, and over 49 were injured. President Zelensky condemned the attack as an act of terrorism. "This is a blatant disregard for human life," he stated in a televised address. The Ukrainian Air Force intercepted many of the missiles and drones, but damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure was significant. The attack comes in response to a recent Ukrainian offensive, codenamed "Operation Spiderweb," which inflicted heavy losses on the Russian air force. While the exact extent of the damage remains to be fully assessed, the attack serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing conflict's devastating consequences. The international community continues to call for a peaceful resolution.
