Minsk Woman Loses $100,000 in Elaborate Phone Scam

In Minsk, an 85-year-old woman lost $100,000 to phone scammers. Initially, posing as Energosbyt employees, they obtained her personal data. Then, impersonating law enforcement officers, they convinced her to hand over the money to a courier for "declaration." The courier, a 64-year-old woman who was also a victim of fraud, believed she was saving the money from scammers.
