Mexico City Expands 'Rita Cetina' Scholarship Program to Preschool and Primary School Children Mexico City's Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum has announced an expansion of the popular 'Rita Cetina' scholarship program. The program, previously limited to secondary school students, will now include children in preschool and primary school. This expansion is designed to provide more financial assistance to families. "This is a real scholarship and it has a date!" says the PoliticoMX presenter in a recent video explaining the program. The expanded program offers a bimonthly payment of 1,900 pesos per child. Families with more than one child enrolled will receive an additional 700 pesos for each additional child. The presenter also details the required documents for registration, including CURP, official identification, a working phone number, an email address, and proof of address. The registration period begins in September 2025. Payments will be made via a Banco del Bienestar card.
