Satu Mare, Romania – The "Johann Ettinger" German Theoretical High School in Satu Mare is undergoing a transformative energy rehabilitation project, positioning it as a leading institution in sustainable practices. The initiative, valued at 3.8 million Swiss Francs, aims to convert the school into a "Near-Zero Energy Building" (NZEB), significantly reducing its energy consumption and environmental footprint. "This project involves a comprehensive energy rehabilitation of our institution," stated Robert Elek, Deputy Director of L.T.G. "Johann Ettinger." He added, "It will include replacing doors, windows, installing photovoltaic panels for electricity generation, and innovative steps that will generate current as students walk on them." Maria Reiz, Director of L.T.G. "Johann Ettinger," expressed gratitude, saying, "It is an honor for the German Theoretical High School that the Satu Mare City Hall accessed Swiss funds for the rehabilitation of these buildings." She highlighted that the project benefits not only the school but also the students and teaching staff, making it a unique endeavor in the county. The project is set to make the school a national model for energy efficiency and student involvement in sustainable energy generation.
