Mexico Upgrades Key Border Bridge to Boost Trade and Nearshoring
The Nuevo Leon government has launched a major renovation project at the Colombia Bridge, aiming to transform it into Mexico's busiest border crossing. The project, which includes structural improvements to import/export lanes, a new concrete overlay, and a phased construction approach, is expected to significantly enhance the bridge's capacity and boost trade between Mexico and the United States. "This investment is key to increasing commercial exchange between Texas and Nuevo Leon," said one official. The improvements are also intended to support the growth of nearshoring activities in the region. The project is expected to be completed by the end of Samuel Garcia's term as governor. The video shows the scale of the project and the busy traffic flow at the bridge.
