
11 Dead, 31 Injured in Tragic Mexico Family Bus Accident
Eleven members of a family perished and 31 others were injured in a devastating bus accident that occurred in the north of Mexico on June 5, 2025. The accident happened on a national highway near the La Alaja Congregation in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo Leon. According to authorities, the bus, carrying the family on vacation to the beaches of Tampico, Tamaulipas, veered into oncoming traffic due to excessive speed and the driver's lack of experience. The bus overturned, resulting in the tragic loss of life and numerous injuries. Erick Cavazos, Director of Civil Protection of Nuevo Leon, stated, "We have a figure of 31 injured. The most serious cases are those three minors who were brought here." Emergency services responded swiftly, and three children were airlifted to the Maternal and Child Hospital in Monterrey. The Escobedo authorities announced that they will cover the funeral expenses through the City Council Secretariat and a public social assistance institution.
