Federal Investigation Urged Over Alleged Immigrant Rights Abuses in Los Angeles
A federal investigation is being urged into alleged human rights violations against immigrants detained in Los Angeles government buildings. The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) reports that hundreds of people, possibly including minors, are being held in overcrowded conditions, lacking adequate food and water. "They tell us there were 200 people detained in the building for over 24 hours. They don't have enough food or water," states Juan Proaño, LULAC President. Proaño also highlighted the case of a pregnant woman denied medical care. Court officials and immigration lawyers confirm immigrants are awaiting appeals process decisions. This situation underscores the urgent need for improved conditions and a thorough investigation into these allegations.
