Unexpected Reinstatement to Military Registry Causes Anxiety in Ukraine
In Ukraine, there are reports of citizens being unexpectedly reinstated to military registration, despite having previously been removed. This is causing significant distress and uncertainty. One lawyer, who has successfully handled several such cases, explains the situation. "Many people are contacting us, panicked about being put back on the register," he says. He advises citizens to gather supporting documentation, such as medical certificates, to prove their ineligibility for military service. The process, he notes, can take one to three months to resolve. A positive development is that the lawyer has recently received confirmation from the Fastiv Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCSC) in Kyiv Oblast that a client's documents were reviewed and approved, leading to their removal from the military register.
