Palma de Mallorca, Spain – A local driving instructor, Magalis Jiménez Jiménez, recently shared a crucial road safety tip highlighting the dangers of driving with inappropriate footwear. In a video demonstration, Jiménez showcased how common summer shoes like flip-flops, as well as high heels and platform shoes, can compromise a driver's ability to operate pedals safely. "This is the danger of driving with flip-flops," Jiménez stated, demonstrating how the loose footwear can get caught on the car's floor mat, potentially hindering quick reactions in an emergency. She further explained that high heels and platforms can reduce a driver's sensitivity to the pedals, making precise control difficult. Jiménez emphasized that for optimal safety, drivers should always wear secure and flat footwear, such as sneakers, that allow for full control and sensitivity over the accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals. The instructor's advice serves as a vital reminder for all motorists to prioritize safety by choosing appropriate attire behind the wheel.
