A Mother's Plea: Remembering a Fallen Ukrainian Medic
On the first anniversary of her death, family and comrades gathered at Kyiv's Lukianivka Cemetery to remember Diana Savita Wagner, a 36-year-old combat medic who died in the Kharkiv region while saving wounded soldiers. Her husband, Karl Stenerud, spoke of his wife's unwavering commitment to helping others, saying, "She said that she can't just stand by and treat the symptoms; she had to be part of the cure." Ursula Wagner, Diana's mother, described her daughter's work at a medical post 50 kilometers from the front line, revealing that she only learned of her death through a phone call. Wagner's mother has since written to German politicians, urging them to provide Ukraine with more weapons and ammunition. The event underscores the human cost of the conflict and the ongoing need for international support for Ukraine.
