
21-Year-Old Dies After Plaza Shooting in Maipú
A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in a Maipú plaza on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing a group of individuals involved in an altercation with the victim prior to the shooting. One of the individuals pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times. Neighbors rushed the injured man to Hospital El Carmen, but he succumbed to his injuries. Carabineros arrived on the scene following an alert from the communications center. "Carabineros personnel were alerted to an individual injured by ballistic impacts to the thoracic area," explained Lieutenant Colonel Gustavo Tapia, commissioner of the 25th Maipú Police Station.
