Marcos Orders Courtesy Resignations from GOCC Officials
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued a directive on May 26, 2025, mandating courtesy resignations from all ranking executives within government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs). This decision, announced via the Governance Commission website on May 28th, aims to facilitate a comprehensive assessment of GOCC performance and realign administrative priorities. The order encompasses chairpersons, CEOs, directors, trustees, and board members. Those not holding additional government positions are required to submit their resignations to the Office of the Executive Secretary. Appointed directors and board members must notify the Governance Commission. While they continue their duties until acceptance of their resignations, this move underscores President Marcos's commitment to reshaping his administration to better reflect the public's needs. "President Marcos earlier said he would revamp his administration to make sure it is aligned with what the public wants," stated the Rappler report.
