Spain Announces Major Public Transportation Discounts and Free Rides Starting July 1st, 2025 Spain is set to implement significant changes to its public transportation system, offering free and discounted fares for various age groups beginning July 1st, 2025. For city buses and metro, children under 15 will ride free. Young adults between 15 and 25 will receive a 50% discount, while all other passengers will enjoy a 40% reduction. Renfe's medium-distance services will also offer discounts. Children will travel free, young people will receive a 70% discount, and the general public will get a 40% reduction. Similar discounts apply to Avant and Cercanías services. "Os vais a tener que sacar un código," the presenter explains, emphasizing that a code will be required to access certain discounts. This code can be obtained through the Ministry of Transport's website.
